Organ cycle in the Cathedral of Barcelona

In the Cathedral of Barcelona the organ accompanies the Eucharistic celebrations and the prayer of the divine office. Since 1990, organ concerts have been programmed monthly with great public success.

The organ in the cathedral is one of the most important in Catalonia. Built in the 16th century and, after various renovations, it was restored in 1994 by organ builder Gabriel Blancafort. It has 57 registers spread over four keyboards and a pedal. Due to its characteristics, it allows the interpretation of repertoire from different periods and styles, all of them present in this cycle.
